Lauren Ashley Carroll TCRG

Head teacher and owner of the Carroll-Henderson School of Irish Dancing, Lauren began dancing aged Seven with the Haran School of Irish Dance in Spokane, WA under TCRG, Caitlin Trusler.

Here, as a Champion-Level dancer, she competed annually at the Western Region Championships (Oireachtas) and regularly danced along side traditional Irish band An Dochas.

Armed with a passion for performance, Lauren applied to the B.A. Irish Music and Dance program in the University of Limerick, Ireland. It was here Lauren studied from 2012 up until her graduation in 2016.

While in Ireland, she continued her competitive training under the Fleming-Ball Irish Dance Academy with ADCRG (adjudicator) Linda Ball-Hoban. Lauren enjoyed a successful competitive spell with this school, receiving a Munster medal (4th at the Munster Championships) and competing at the London (2014) and Montreal (2015) World Championships (Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne)  in both solo competitions and team events (Ceilis).

In 2014, Lauren had the opportunity to teach with Linda Ball-Hoban and studied under Ball-Hoban to receive her TCRG (teaching certificate with An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha). In 2015 aged 21 and while still in University, Lauren took and passed the rigorous TCRG examination, 14 years after her journey began in Spokane, WA.

Today, Lauren is a registered TCRG with the international Irish dance organization, An Coimisiun le Rince Gaelacha. With her training in Ireland complete, Lauren returned to Washington State to open her own Irish dance school and teach the skills she learned.

As well as competitive dancing, Lauren also enjoys working on a more artistic, contemporary, and performance style of the dancing.
